What is "injury risk assessment" ?
Running is basically hopping on 1 leg for 1 mile or 26 miles. A proficient runner needs flexibility, strength, endurance, power, motor control, balance, proper sleep, nutrition, energy and endorphins to name a few things, to do this successfully. Everyone can run, but not everyone should be running certain speeds, distances or trails without a balance of these skills.
Today we selected 2 simple physical tests to give us a snapshot of your ankle range of motion, core, hip and quad strength and balance. Scoring well on these 2 tests does not guarantee you are injury proof- nor does scoring poorly yield the opposite! But it may lend you some focus to further improve your running - and who doesn't want THAT!
For a more thorough assessment of your risks we suggest you consider having us, or your personal physical therapist examine and discuss these other ares with you:
